Our Trip to Cromford Mill

Lesson: Topic

We had a great trip to Cromford Mill on Wednesday 10th January. The children all got dressed up and had a go at some old skills from the cotton making process. We also had a walk around Cromford to see Sir Richard Arkwright's legacy. We saw the mill workers' cottages, the Greyhound hotel he built for his guests to stay in and even the local lock up! We finished by seeing the house he built for himself and the local church where he is buried. We realised in the end that he was a very wealthy man!!
