Welcome Back!

On behalf of the Trust, staff and the children of Ash Croft Primary Academy, we would like to warmly welcome you to our website and to thank you for taking an interest in our academy.

At the centre of all we do, we want to focus on Aspiration – motivating the children to aim high, Communication – speaking, listening and reading are key to every other aspect of learning and Experience – not just talking or reading about something but bringing their learning to life with hands on experiences.

We will then build onto the ACE curriculum the Golden Threads of Learning as we widen their vocabulary and oracy skills, help them develop a love of reading and broaden their cultural experiences.

The Harmony Pledge is our commitment to help all children at Ash Croft to develop ten characteristics for themselves, that will set them up for the future. We want them to be:

Problem Solvers

This ethos is at the heart of the academy and contributes to the shared goal of ensuring that our children move on to the next stage of their education as confident, competent learners. We want the children to be happy and excited about coming to school to learn and to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding across a wide and varied curriculum.

Message from the Principal

I am delighted and honored to be the principal of Ash Croft Primary Academy and I am very keen to get to know parents, pupils and staff.

I feel very privileged to work in education and it was always my dream to be a teacher and make a difference. I want Ash Croft to give your children that spark, that knowledge and that determination to achieve their dreams. I am very passionate about what I do and you and your children will get my full commitment to give them the very best education.

My career began in a primary school in Leicester where I led English, having my work published nationally. From here, I moved to Derby, where I was Deputy Headteacher for eight years at a primary school, being part of the team which achieved an outstanding OFSTED judgment. During my time there, I went on a secondment as Acting Headteacher of an Infant and Nursery School, taking them through an OFSTED and securing a good judgement. My most recent role, as a Principal within The Harmony Trust, has been most rewarding, working in an academy on an improvement journey.

It is with this range of experience that I look forward to my role at Ash Croft, where I am determined to ensure children receive the best possible education, are safe and secure and are ready for the next stage of their education.

If you are considering sending your child to our wonderful academy, please contact the office so that we can arrange a visit for you.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our academy website.
