Current PPA Policy Review by Trustees

As you are aware our trustees have implemented a temporary policy for the current term to provide all teachers with their statutory PPA time by closing all our academies to pupils for half a day each week. This decision was taken to reduce infection risks for children and staff as it removed the need for different staff being used to cover PPA time. It also reduced the risk of further bubble closures in the event of a positive COVID 19 test.

The Trustees are reviewing this policy later this month and would value your views as these will be an important factor to inform their decision making regarding either continuing with the current approach or returning to using PPA staff to cover bubbles whilst the teacher has PPA.
