Pre-School and Nursery Admission & Charges

Ash Croft Academy provides Nursery provision as part of The Harmony Trust, applications for Nursery places are managed directly by the academy office.

Our Early Years provision operates inline with:

• Government Early Years funding guidance

• Derby City Council requirements

Admissions to Pre-School and Nursery

Applications for Nursery places should be made directly to the Academy office.

Places are allocated in accordance with the Trust's admissions criteria, which include priority for:

• Children with an Education, Health and Care Plan naming the academy

• Vulnerable children as identified by the Local Authority

• Children living within the Academy catchment area

• Sibling connections, where applicable

Please note that a place in Nursery does not guarantee a place in Reception at this academy.

Funded Early Education Entitlement

Children may be eligible for funded early education as follows:

Two Year Old Funding (Derby - Flying Start)

Some two year olds may be eligible for 15 funded hours per week through the Flying Start programme. This is targeted offer for eligible families and is available from the term after a child's second birthday.

Parents and carers must apply via Derby City Council. Funding is only confirmed once a valid code has been and issued and provided to the academy.

Three and Four Year Old Funding

All children are entitled to :

• 15 funded hours per week (universal entitlement)

Eligible working family may also access:

• Up to 30 funded hours per week

Funding is term-time only and is available for the term after a child's third birthday. To register for a 30 hour funded place parents must register online at Apply for free childcare if you're working - GOV.UK Parents must provide and regularly reconfirm a valid funding code. The Academy cannot hold a place where eligibility is unconfirmed.

Session Times

The following Pre-School and Nursery sessions are offered at Ash Croft:

Charges

Rising 3 year old - Hours over the 15 hours entitlement are charged at £8.50 per hour.

3/4 year old - Hours over the 15 hours entitlement are charged at £5.52 per hour.

We are unable to refund Nursery fees for sessions not taken due to illness and leave of absence.

Meals and Snacks

Hot meals are available where offered.

• The charge for a hot meal is £2.64 per day

• Meals must be pre-booked and paid in advance via ParentPay

Children receive a daily snack as part of their session.

Where applicable, families may make a voluntary contribution towards snack provision.
